The Celebrant Accord, developed by The Funeral Celebrancy Council, sets the standards for what makes an excellent funeral celebrant.
It outlines the skills and attributes needed to create and lead personal, accurate and respectful funeral ceremonies.
A great celebrant serves the bereaved by reflecting the life, values and beliefs of the deceased, supporting the grieving process, and showing professionalism, care, calm leadership, and a commitment to self-development. You can learn more about it on their website, linked here.
Good question. There are a few eulogies on the blog for a number of famous people who have passed away. They're there for a couple of reasons. Generally, I've chosen people who have meant something to me personally over my life; whether that's someone I admire, had an impact on me when younger or was just a big fan of.
Secondly, it offers people a chance to be able to see the quality of my work. Obviously, it's not really appropriate to display personal eulogies I've written for other clients, which makes it hard for new clients to see or understand what I produce. By creating eulogies for famous people, whilst they are in no way official or commissioned by their estate, you can at least begin to see the quality of my work, which hopefully gives you confidence when working with me for the first time.
